With more than $25 billion in assets under administration and offices across the country, Wellington-Altus identifies with successful, entrepreneurial advisors and portfolio managers and their high-net-worth clients.*Investment Executive 2023 Brokerage Report Card.The opportunity:Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Chief Experience Officer, the Senior Vice-President, Advanced Wealth Planning is responsible for supporting advisory teams with wealth planning expertise.The Senior Vice-President, Advanced Wealth Planning will be responsible for managing a team of wealth planners that work with advisory teams to prepare and deliver financial plans to wealthy clients. The role will ensure that Wellington-Altus has the resources (software, people), expertise, processes and governance required to support advisors with wealth planning.Key responsibilities include:Leading the delivery of all wealth planning services, including financial, tax and estate planning.Creating and developing the wealth planning offering for Investment Advisors.Championing the value, benefits and outcomes of financial planning to both advisors and clients.Managing the Advanced Wealth Planning team, including wealth planners, insurance consultants and subject matter experts.Training and educating Investment Advisors and staff on wealth planning matters.Responding to enquiries from Investment Advisors and staff on wealth planning matters.Designing, testing and delivering tools and resources to help Advisors deliver wealth plans to clients, either using the centralized wealth planning team or through resources on their own Advisory team.Developing an in-depth knowledge of the wealth planning technology and software supported by the business and how advisors can best use these tools to lead planning conversations with clients.Defining and measuring the impact of Wellington-Altus' planning offer to ensure it is adding value to advisor practices and meeting advisor expectations.Preparing and facilitating workshops and seminars on various current topics relating to financial planning.Developing professional practice standards and governance processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of planning delivered to clients.Remaining current on all financial planning related topics.Designing and managing the strategy, resources and partnerships involved in helping advisors to introduce insurance solutions to their clients.Working with the team to prepare articles/reference materials on a variety of wealth planning topics as well as technical content for business development material on an occasional basis.Meeting with prospective Advisors to promote the firm's wealth planning capabilities and competitive advantage.Promoting and supporting the wealth planning group to internal and external (media) stakeholders.Working collaboratively with peers and colleagues as a subject matter expert, as a change champion, or Advisor advocate on initiatives.Capturing feedback from Advisors to foster a collaborative culture and sharing with corporate partners as needed.Building and maintaining strong working relationships with peers and Advisors, including members of the executive leadership team.Liaising with corporate partners to ensure all Advisor requirements related to operations, finance, compliance, risk, technology, etc. are met.Creating a local culture of collaboration and best-practice sharing.Collaborating with Finance and management team to set annual budgets and monitor spending.Performing other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will possess:10+ years' financial services industry experience working in a high growth environment.10+ years' experience in leadership.Experience in the wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset.Post secondary education with a specialization in law, business, accounting or related field.CFP or other equivalent planning designation.Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Outlook.Proficient in financial planning software to create comprehensive wealth planning services.Leadership experience which includes goal setting, coaching and supervision of staff.Exceptional leadership and time, task, and resource management skills.Ability to plan for and keep track of multiple projects and deadlines.Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement, human resources, and customer service procedures.Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.Excellent attitude and commitment to provide extraordinary service.An excellent attention to detail.Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).Excellent problem-solving skills.Strong organizational skills.A high tolerance for ambiguity; highly adaptive.Able to manage a large volume of competing priorities.Strong critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.Conditions of employment:Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.Must be able to travel within Canada up to 25% of the time.A background check, satisfactory to the employer, may be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.Wellington-Altus Private Wealth is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community and welcomes applications from women, racialized persons, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of all sexual orientations and genders.
