We actively encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing historical and/or current barriers to equity.Position Overview:As the Senior Manager, Labour and Employee Relations - Teaching Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our human resources operations. Reporting to the Superintendent of Human Resources, you will provide strategic guidance and support on a range of labour relations matters, collective bargaining, and employee relations initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage specific functional units within Human Resources, including Labour/Employee Relations, WSIB Administration, Attendance Support, Disability Management, and Health and Safety.Oversee collective bargaining programs for all unionized employee groups, serving as the primary spokesperson during negotiations.Direct recruitment and selection processes for academic staff, ensuring compliance with policies, legislation, and best practices.Provide expert advice and counsel on HR policies and procedures to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Collaborate with legal counsel on matters related to arbitration, pay equity, human rights, and other legal proceedings.Contribute to the development and monitoring of Board policy in relevant areas.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in Labour Relations/Human Resources, with at least five (5) years in a supervisory capacity.CHRP or CHRL certification required.Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, including Labour Relations Act, Education Act, Human Rights Code, etc.Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Salary: Professional Administrative Support Staff (PASS 11) - $112,492 - $144,709How to Apply:Interested candidates are invited to submit a resume and cover letter to careers@hwcdsb.ca by April 29, 2024, 4:00 p.m. Please include the full posting title in the subject line.
