Description
JTEKT Bearings Canada Inc, a subsidiary of JTEKT North America, is currently seeking a talented individual to join our team as Human Resources Manager. This person will have a strong background in human resources, as well as management skills.
Your main roles
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Human Resources Manager plans, organizes, manage, controls and evaluates the activities of the Human Resources Department, including payroll, training, and organizational development. Working within a culture of continuous improvement, he actively participates in maintaining and advancing this improvement culture at all levels of the organization, through a good knowledge of the principles of "Lean management" and the concepts and tools associated with "Lean Manufacturing" and the Toyota Production System (TPS).
In a work environment that promotes the mobilization and commitment of all, he develops policies and implements programs and procedures for human resources planning, recruitment, negotiation of collective agreements, training and development, job classification, and compensation and benefits administration.
He represents management and actively participates in meetings of the various joint committees to ensure ongoing management-employee relations. He must also maintain good relations with corporate management in the United States, notably by actively participating in various meetings.
Job Description
The Human Resources Manager performs all the following functions:
Plan, organize, conduct, control and evaluate the activities of the human resources, payroll, training, and organizational development.
Plan human resources requirements in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote harmonious working relationships in a climate of collaboration and problem-solving.
Act as spokesperson for the renewal of the collective agreement.
Act as an agent of change and influence the management team and all managers in the application of management principles favoring the mobilization and commitment of all employees.
Ensure employee retention by implementing measures adapted to their needs and those of our industry.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, such as the Pay Equity Act.
Participate in the annual strategic planning process (Hoshin) for the plant and its function and ensure the deployment of identified activities in line with deadlines.
Deploy and maintain the various corporate programs.
Act as leader for all plant communications and for the annual communications plan.
Your profile:
A bachelor's degree in a field related to human resources management, such as business administration, human resources options, industrial relations, or any other related field.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in human resources, including 3 to 5 years' management experience, is required.
Must have worked in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Management experience in a multinational environment.
Knowledge of Lean culture, Lean leadership concepts and tools is considered an asset.
Must communicate in French and English, written and spoken.
