Job Summary The Supportive Services Supervisor oversees advocacy, crisis intervention, support services (including intakes, outreach, case conferencing, etc.), and coordination with community partners. Ensures that their assigned program meets or exceeds program objectives, supervises the provision of high-quality services for program participants, and further ensures ongoing compliance with funder requirements and agency policy and procedure. Responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision, and scheduling of staff, volunteers, and interns. Generally, supervises Health Care/Housing Navigator, Veteran Program Specialist, and Intake and Outreach positions. The Supportive Services Supervisor will also oversee outreach efforts across the team in coordination with community partners and relevant stakeholders. Acts as a knowledgeable liaison to community agencies and is responsible for promoting awareness of the Volunteers of America resources and services. The position requires ongoing interaction with team members, program participants, and community stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of service provision, including oversight of all operational program components from outreach to program exit. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and supervises assigned program and support staff and implements ongoing training and staff development activities. Responsible for continuous program development and oversight, reviewing funder requirements on an ongoing basis. Oversees pending client intakes and makes client assignments to case managers. As well as helps coordinate services with community partners like the VA and others in the community. Oversees client program eligibility certification and requests for temporary financial assistance, ensuring all funder and agency requirements are met prior to payment. Works closely with managers, supervisors, and others to ensure team members are receiving appropriate support and have a comprehensive array of veteran referral sources. Assists team in coordinating and connecting with services for program participants. Supervises the provision of support services provided by team members, ensuring adherence to program requirements and field-relevant best practices and standards. Monitors and performs scheduling functions ensuring adequate coverage for participant accessibility, and schedules staff for outreach activities in conjunction with team members. Schedules staff for outreach activities in conjunction with team members. Including creating and maintaining an ongoing outreach calendar. Supervises intake, outreach, resource navigation, and other program support positions, as assigned. Monitors all aspects of program documentation completed by assigned staff. Gathers statistical data relevant to the program as required. Acts as a community liaison maintaining cooperative working relations throughout the community. Oversees screenings and intake process assessing for eligibility and compliance Ensures veterans by name list is updated accurately and on a regular basis, including client enrollments, exits, and housing placements. Engaging in local and regional coordination meetings across the community to end veteran homelessness. Updates housing placements for all clients in HMIS Oversees and organizes outreach efforts for the program, ensuring the program is on track to meet or exceed targets. Creates and maintains annual and quarterly strategic plans. Tracks daily, weekly, and monthly outreach efforts. Develops and implements long-term outreach strategies, projects, etc. Serves as point of contact for receiving referrals from community partners and VA, including to HUD-VASH and GPD. As well as serves as the point of contact for making referrals to these partners. Schedules regular training, tours, and meetings for program staff with community partners, resources, etc. Participates in the strategic review of program targets and progress. Engages in efforts to end veteran homelessness in the Denver Metro area, attending Built for Zero meetings, organizing outreach coordination in the community, Homeless coordination team meetings, HOST monthly meetings, and attending by-name list meetings for each region Attends regular community events such as resource fairs, networking events, workshops, summits/ conferences, presentations/training, etc. Requirements Competencies Models core culture attributes of VOACO that include "AIRS" (Accountability, Integrity, Respect, and Service). Models and VOACO's three strategic critical virtues of HHS (Hungry, Humble, People Smart). Minimum Qualifications of Position Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a closely related field or related experience. 1 year of direct, full-time case management or full-time outreach experience demonstrating the ability to consistently apply field-relevant best practices and standards. Demonstrated ability to fulfill relevant program compliance and administrative requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead teams of human service professionals Must possess a Colorado driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance. Must possess a personal vehicle that may be used for work-related travel (reimbursement for mileage is available). Must complete agency and program credentialing within 12 weeks of hire and maintain credentialing standards thereafter. Preferred Qualifications of Position SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) Certification. Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) Certification. Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related field. Knowledge and Skills Ability to inspire, train, mentor, and lead teams. Ability to balance administrative and direct service responsibilities. Expert-level knowledge and skill in the application of Harm Reduction, Critical Time Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, and Housing First Principles. Ability to respectfully and professionally serve individuals hailing from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ideologies, and religions. Ability to work and thrive within a diverse, multicultural team environment. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to apply appropriate self-care in the face of often difficult and/or traumatic situations which commonly present while working with persons in need of services. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Travel throughout the program's service area is required on a regular basis. Must be able to work in diverse and, at times, uncomfortable environments such as homeless shelters, service facilities, streets, offices, and all other locations as necessary to fulfill program objectives. Bending, Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Crouching, Squatting, Lifting (30 to 50 pounds), Balancing, Standing, Sitting, Hand/Foot motions, Walking, Seeing (Close and distant vision, Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Assess, Estimate), Depth Perception, Hearing/Listening, Speaking/Shouting (Communicate, Discern, Convey, Express, Exchange), Use of Hands/Fingers (Grasping, Holding, Touching), Thinking, Calculating, Memory/Recall, Exposure to Indoor and Outdoor environments. Salary Range 24.50 - 26.50 Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Full-Time as indicated in the posting. Work hours may vary but are typically scheduled around a 40-hour workweek designed to fulfill program objectives with occasional overtime requirements.
