The Opportunity: Under broad supervision this position is responsible for the provision of specialist engineering services related to marine/mechanical engineering in the support of the material remediation of the configuration baseline of the ACSSPO. Responsibilities
  • Investigate shortcomings in design, materials and system performance against contract specifications and participate in the development of solutions to resolve the problems.
  • Review and comment on engineering changes, including supporting ILS documentation.
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders including ACSSPO staff, LHD ship’s staff, the In-service Support Contractor (Navantia), OEMs and Lloyd’s Register in the course of your duties.
  • Participate in the development and conduct of tests and trials to determine system performance against design intent.
  • Provide specialist advice in support of the RP team members engaged in multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Produce detailed technical reports and associated documentation as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential:
  • Degree in electrical engineering.
  • 8 years plus experience, preferably in a naval engineering environment.
  • Able to work with in the Seaworthiness Management System.
  • Qualified to hold a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) delegation
Mandatory Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA NV1 clearance at minimum
