We encourage creative and innovative thinking and welcome candidates who are not afraid to challenge the status quo.What you'll be working onElicit requirements leveraging experience and discretion to apply an appropriate mix of approaches: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysisDelivering solutions that not only meet but exceed stakeholder objectives through the meticulous application of manual validation techniques.Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needsProactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: business requirements document, use cases, GUI, prototypes, screen and interface designsDrive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plansCollaborate with designers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needsEnsure solutions meet stakeholder objectives by collaborating with quality assurance professionals and subject matter experts; conduct usability assessment; perform/support user acceptance testing efforts as requiredProvides business and system expertise along with research/analysis services that support the design, delivery and maintenance of quality applications and enhancementsImplements business requirements and process change initiatives to ensure that all specifications meet the objectives of the CompanyEnsures process change along with appropriate communication for integration into business unit operationsWhat we're looking for you to havePost secondary degree or diploma and/or equivalent work experience3+ years work experience as a Business Analyst and/or in insurance/financial services industry2+ Years experience working in Scrum based teams and creation of User Stories, or equivalent trainingAbility to prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projectsWell developed communication, negotiation, persuasion and/or presentation skillsExperience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall and/or AgileExperience working on web applicationsExperience in process analysis and improvement and quality management conceptsAbility to think logically, analyze and/or solve problemsIf you are applying for a position which is open to applicants across Canada, unless otherwise indicated in the position, language proficiency in English is required for communicating with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.Beyond the salaryFor regular full-time positions, Empire Life offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes:Competitive salaries with annual pay increasesAnnual bonus program, which recognizes both strong company performance and individual contributionsCompetitive uncapped commission for sales positionsA comprehensive employer-funded benefits package that includes life insurance, disability, health and dental and a generous health accountFlexible work arrangements and an annual allotment of personal health days.Four weeks annual vacation from hire dateA defined contribution pension plan with generous employer matchingTop up programs for parental leave and compassionate leaveEmployer-sponsored wellness and recognition programsA cash employee referral programTo learn more about working at Empire Life, visit https://www.empire.ca/workatempire.Get to know usEmpire life is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
