The position Your main role involves overseeing, developing, and implementing the Region APAC Market Access and Public Affairs strategy and driving key strategic projects. Accountable for managing the right structure, capacity and tools for Public Affairs, Market Access & Pricing and for leading and developing the right organizational capabilities. This position will report to the Vice President Commercial Affairs and Strategy and will have 6 direct reports. Your main duty includes, but are not limited to:- Strategize and drive APAC Public Affairs activities across all therapy areas within Region APAC, including policy development, partnerships, and engagement with patient advocacy groups to support the public affairs strategy for Novo Nordisk’s expanding portfolio.
- Monitor and anticipate healthcare system and competitive landscape changes to leverage opportunities and mitigate potential risks by disseminating relevant information across the organization and chair APAC Market Access Forums and represent APAC Market Access in International Operations (IO)/Global Forums.
- Accountable for the development of APAC Market Access functional team deliverables to ensure high-quality and timely output. Tailor and implement strategic Market Access frameworks such as payer engagement, negotiation, and objection handler for affiliates.
- Collaborate closely with IO Pre-Market Approval (PMA) and critical functional areas in APAC (Marketing, Clinical Development, Medical and Regulatory Affairs (CMR), and Business Development) as well as with affiliates to drive aligned actions and tactics for Market Access.
- Ensure affiliate Market Access Plans have aligned strategic direction with IO/APAC desire and IO/APAC PMA vision.
- Implement global pricing strategies and adapt those strategies to APAC setting to maximize revenues based on a solid knowledge of expected submission evaluations, intrinsic value, precedents, modelling to define per market price level, and market access schemes.
- A University Degree in the relevant area, such as an M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree within Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology or similar.
- At least 7-9 years of experience within a pharmaceutical/biotech company or as a consultant within the life science industry. The Sr. Dir must document more than 5 years’ experience within public affairs/market access. Previous strong Leadership experience is a must.
- Strong, project management and interpersonal skills are required. Further, the Sr. Director must be organised and motivated to deliver on projects, alone or with the team, all the way from A to Z to improve patients’ access to Novo Nordisk’s innovative therapies.
- Demonstrated excellence in English and must be proficient with MS Office.
