Overview **This position will be physically located in Qatar in support of LOGCAP** Support Dining Facility Manager by ensuring all subsistence and consumable items required to support and operate the dining facilities and remote sites are ordered, stored properly, issued, 100% accountability and secure IAW the Army Food Program, PWS and Full Food Service SOP’s, Vectrus Standards and Procedures. The Subsistence Supervisor also supports the DFAC Manager as needed in provision of food service operations to include directing all work and be responsible for performance in designated facility (to include subcontractors statement of work (SOW), and oversee preparation and service of food, sanitation, housekeeping, maintenance, repair and special events . Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  1. Support DFAC operations as a Tier II Supervisor. Tier II Supervisors are supervisors who operate facilities that fluctuate between 1000 to 3000 personnel per meal, and manage between 60 –120 staff personnel, and can be used as floaters to cover shifts when managers have days off, vacations, sick or administrative appointments.
  2. Tier II Supervisor will support DFAC operations by providing leadership and supervision to ensure the Subsistence Section/Warehouse Area is operating IAW Army Food Program, local policy, PWS, TRI-SERVICE FOOD CODE, and Vectrus Standards and Procedures.
  3. Daily usage of AFMIS and STORES web based systems to support daily mission and requirements
  4. Support DFAC Manager as required. May be required to lead operations in absence of DFAC Manager. Follow government food service accounting procedures.
  5. DFAC Subsistence/Ration Supervisor will be responsible for receiving, storing and issuing CLASS I Operational Rations; conducting the 28-day menu and planning with the DFAC Manager; requisitioning and acquisition of subsistence from Prime Vendors and utilizing the System Total Ordering Ration Electronic Receipt system (STORES) and DSCP.
  6. Responsible for storing all subsistence and consumable items to ensure food items are sanitary and remain fresh before consumed; subsistence is not handled in any manner that exposes the food items to unsanitary conditions or environmental temperature and humidity conditions that could damage or spoil the subsistence; comply with Chapter 13 of FM 10-23-2, TB MED 530 and all US Department Health and Human Services Food Code standards, and keep records of all food and consumables received and stored as required, verifying proper handling and storage procedures are used.
  7. Ration Supervisor may be required to supervise subcontractors with food preparation, food serving, cashier operations, cleanliness of the dining areas, serving lines, kitchens, temperature danger zones, dishwashing area and storage areas IAW with PWS and SOPs.
  8. Maintain all equipment accountability and serviceability
  9. Maintain turn-in and ordering of stockage levels both consumable and non-consumable items.
  10. Ensure that all employees are always in compliance with all established Policies and Regulations.
  11. Direct and ensure that HACCP procedures are followed.
  12. Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must maintain a current Food Service, ServSafe Certification Certificate or any equivalent ANSI accredited program certification (within the last 4 years).
    • Must be able to maintain a NACI Clearance.
    • Must be able to maintain NIPR, AFMIS and STORES accounts.
    • Must be able to pass current MOD 15 employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
    • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and able to obtain Local Driver’s License.
  • Experience:
    • 5 years of large scale food operation experience. All DFAC Supervisors shall have 2 years of management experience within a large-scale food operation. Prefer Military food service experience in the pay grade of Staff Sergeant (E-6) or above within the past five (5) years with two (2) years of experience working as a manager or assistant manager.
  • Skills:
    • Should be knowledgeable in AFMIS, STORES, inventory control. HACCP, FM-10-23-2, DA Pam.30-22, AR. 30-22, TB MED 530/ Tri-Service Food Code, AR 40-25, AR 30-21, and U.S Department of Health and Human Services Food Code standards. Thorough understanding of quality customer food service and preparation of nutritional meals. Must be able to work under pressure. Service oriented.
  • SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Supervise a small group of Foreign National personnel.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Visual Acuity
    • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Working Conditions
    • The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
    • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
    • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
    • The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
