Finance, Deputy/Assistant Manager The candidate must independently be able to:

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day accounting & financial activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO to support financial planning, analysis, and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budgets and variance analysis and presentations for the CFO and other senior executives with accurate and timely financial information, as well as reporting and details required by the parent company and the group.
  • Coordinate with the CFO to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in managing financial risk and implementing effective internal control measures under the CFO's guidance.
  • Prepare Tax returns and check and validate all the Tax related matters. Also, responsible for timely filing of Tax returns and answering related tax queries with set time-lines by the regulator.
  • Timely file the regulatory returns to CBB and other regulatory authorities within the set timelines by the regulator.
  • Work closely with the CFO to evaluate and improve financial processes and systems.
  • Manage and supervise the timely payments to all Re-takaful and other providers without any lapses and place proper controls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to reconcile intercompany transactions, accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, cost savings opportunities, and process improvement areas.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes impacting the insurance sector.
  • Support implementing new accounting systems and software upgrades, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to the junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is required. Insurance professional qualifications such as ACII or FCII is an advantage.
  • Must have at least four years of experience in independently handling tasks in the Accounts and Finance department of an Insurance Company.
  • Knowledge of International Accounting Standards and Accounting standards issued by AAOIFI.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
