This global leadership role in cyber security is to manage the Security Operations (SecOps) team responsible for design, implementation and evolution of Canonical security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure and build processes. They are responsible for assuring the security and integrity of our own infrastructure and product deployments. They design and implement technical security controls that ensure security threats are automatically identified, contained and remediated. The team will also contribute ideas and requirements for Canonical product security, improving the resilience and robustness of all Ubuntu customers and users subject to cyber attack. As a leader on cyber security in the company, the SecOps team manager will collaborate with our Organisational Learning and Development team to develop playbooks and facilitate SecOps training across Canonical. They will operate in a wider security organisation, run a high performing security team and improve Canonical's security posture. They will lead initiatives to integrate the team's insights into Canonical's broader software development process. While this is a management position, we expect managers to be expert practitioners, able to lead by example, contribute at the highest level, and assess work based on their own professional experience and skill. Candidates should have deep, hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tooling and practices, which they can integrate into a holistic next generation security solution across the breadth of Canonical's interests. The SecOps team's mission is not only to secure Canonical, but also to contribute to the security of the wider open source ecosystem. They might share knowledge through public presentations and industry events, and share threat intelligence with the wider community or represent Canonical in sector-specific governance bodies. This role reports to the CISO.
What you will do in this role:

Hire and mentor a team of outstanding technical security professionals
Define Canonical's SecOps security standards and playbooks
Analyse and improve Canonical's security architecture
Evaluate, select and implement new security tools and practices
Identify, contain and guide the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks
Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical SecOps practice
Contribute to open source threat intelligence initiatives
Drive threat modelling, table top exercises and other SecOps practices across Engineering, IS and Canonical
Develop Canonical SecOps learning and development materials
Publish blog posts, whitepapers and conference presentations
Identify, implement and track SecOps KPIs
Plan and deliver SecOps work in the framework of Canonical's agile engineering practice
Work with Security leadership to present information and influence change
What we are looking for

An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
Deep personal motivation to be at the forefront of technology security
Leadership and management ability
Excellent business English writing and presentation skills
Confidence to report security performance metrics with accountability for accuracy and completeness
Expertise in threat modelling and risk management frameworks
Ability to define, implement, automate and measure effective incident response playbooks
Knowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools
Experience contributing to, and consuming, threat intelligence feeds
Experience in security risk management frameworks such as NIST CSF
Experience with security standards such as ISO 27001

			'external_job_description' => '<p><p> This global leadership role in cyber security is to manage the Security Operations (SecOps) team responsible for design, implementation and evolution of Canonical security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure and build processes. They are responsible for assuring the security and integrity of our own infrastructure and product deployments. They design and implement technical security controls that ensure security threats are automatically identified, contained and remediated. The team will also contribute ideas and requirements for Canonical product security, improving the resilience and robustness of all Ubuntu customers and users subject to cyber attack. </p><p> As a leader on cyber security in the company, the SecOps team manager will collaborate with our Organisational Learning and Development team to develop playbooks and facilitate SecOps training across Canonical. They will operate in a wider security organisation, run a high performing security team and improve Canonical&#39;s security posture. They will lead initiatives to integrate the team&#39;s insights into Canonical&#39;s broader software development process. </p><p> While this is a management position, we expect managers to be expert practitioners, able to lead by example, contribute at the highest level, and assess work based on their own professional experience and skill. Candidates should have deep, hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tooling and practices, which they can integrate into a holistic next generation security solution across the breadth of Canonical&#39;s interests. </p><p> The SecOps team&#39;s mission is not only to secure Canonical, but also to contribute to the security of the wider open source ecosystem. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure and build processes. QatarEnergy is looking to recruit an IT Technician in the field of Infrastructure Security who will join a team responsible for overall protection and preservation of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the ICT systems that supports business operations in close coordination with system engineers and team lead. The new member is required to operate, support, and maintain the day-to-day security operations and maintenance of Systems & Network Security services, devices, tools & services. The role will be an enabler to the company&#39;s success through development and implementation of security practices that create a secure working environment.<br />
<br />
<b>Education</b><br />
&bull; Degree in Computer Science, IT technical Diploma or related discipline &bull; 5 + years technical experience with Systems/Network Security such as endpoint security protection, whitelisting solutions, file sandboxing, certificates creation, device controls, Proxy solutions, email gateway solutions, etc. &bull; Recognized information security certification such as MCSE, CCNA, or CCNP is a plus. &bull; Familiarity with current information security best practices and standards such as ISO, NIST, etc. &bull; Proficiency in written and spoken English with good communication skills.<br />

<b>Experience & Skills</b><br />
&bull; Five or more years of demonstrated experience in IT security operations function. &bull; Good knowledge of system security operations related to endpoint security, host-based firewall, device control, application whitelisting, proxy services for internet browsing, email gateways, etc. &bull; Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) operations like certificate generation, renewal, revocation, etc. &bull; Good knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems and troubleshooting skills of issues related to endpoint security. In addition to good understanding of common networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, TLS, SMTP, etc. &bull; Provide first level response outside office hours and second level Support during working hours for Systems Security such as endpoint security, host-based firewall, device control, application whitelisting, PKI operations, etc. &bull; Identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems following the established procedures, guidelines within established SLA limits. &bull; Provide first level response during and outside office hours for Network Security services such as network access controls, security checks for email releasing, Multifactor authentication tokens requests, Internet browsing (proxy) covering URL filtering, SSL inspection, file scanning, etc. &bull; Conduct regular preventative hardware/software maintenance procedures for systems to avoid potential risks interruption of infrastructure security operations and deal with Network Operation Center (NOC) alerts. The engineer shall provide senior technical support for selected security devices and services in addition to providing guidance to other team members in the relevant specialized technology. The role will be an enabler to the company&#39;s success through development and implementation of security practices that create a secure working environment.<br />

<b>Education</b><br />
&bull; Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science, a related Engineering field. &bull; Recognized information security certification such as CISSP, CCIE or equivalent is a plus. &bull; Certification in Microsoft Azure and AWS security is a plus.<br />

<b>Experience & Skills</b><br />

Identify security gaps and provide the right security controls to ensure continuous security enhancements in close coordination with the team lead. &bull; Design, manage and support DNS and DHCP appliances to ensure robust access to network resources and the internet, including DNS hardening and security. Manage and support IPv4 / IPv6 Private and Public Schema, VLAN and IP addresses assignments and DNS entries configuration. Manage internal and external IP address space for the organization, including registration requirements with public domain/ IP address registrars. In addition, design and provision for internal logical segmentation as per business requirements in alignment with security and networking best practices. Manage and support DNS security controls, analyze logs and implement the recommended DNS controls to mitigate security risks. &bull; Design, deploy and manage reverse proxy technologies for application protection services covering but not limited to Web application firewalls, load balancers, virtual patching, secure authentication to applications, DDoS protection services, etc. &bull; Design, deploy, and manage setups related to multi-site and cloud security functions for Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google GCP. <b>Description </b><br />
Lead the efforts to define and implement a Milaha-wide strategy with the aim to guarantee a structured approach to the management of a category(s). That approach takes into consideration the demand analysis, market and vendor analysis, risk assessment and potential value levers in order to drive scale, help deliver cost reductions, increase efficiency, and maximize value.<br />
Key Roles & Responsibilities<br />
Leadership & Management<br />
1. Lead a team of procurement specialists (matrix) handling all personnel development, KPI management, succession planning, etc. Provide recommendations on recruitment, selection, and employee assessment to ensure compliance with HR policies. Foster long-term corporate success through motivated staff, coach subordinates, identify training and career development needs, recommend training courses, and oversee personnel records and resources to meet operational requirements.<br />
Strategy<br />
1. Manage and optimize the assigned category(s) according to the Milaha-wide Procurement strategy.<br />
2. Develop and implement multi-year category strategies which drive additional value for the organization. Align the program with strategic business objectives, communicate the strategy to stakeholders, collect feedback, and derive initiatives in line with strategic requirements<br />
3. Responsible for strategic procurement processes within the category (incl. supplier portfolio management, market analytics, RfX & sourcing of typically larger value orders, supplier selection, purchase order creation & placement, PO follow-up and issue management).<br />
4. Present the category or individual sourcing strategies in front of the Tender Committee or leadership if requested.<br />
5. Monitor the global supplier market for the assigned category. Plan for material and service availability by analyzing trends, delivery systems, and markets. Conduct market assessments, cost models, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership analyses. Evaluate demand patterns/cycles, optimize purchasing power, gather and manage datasets, and provide global market intelligence. Utilize analytics to monitor procurement volumes, usage patterns, inventory levels, costs, and identify pooling opportunities, cost-saving possibilities, and areas for improvement.<br />
Sourcing & Supplier (Vendor) Management<br />
6. Manage key supplier relationships and execute supplier performance reivews.<br />
7. Manage escalations within assigned categories to ensure ll matters are resolved, or escalated ot the nect level.<br />
8. Define optimization initiatives (i.e., standardization, bundling, supplier concentration); initiate, support and drive make-or-buy decisions.<br />
Risk Management<br />
9. Identify, evaluate and manage category risks (e.g., delivery dates, capacities, exchange rates / prices for materials) and develop risk management initiatives.<br />
Execution (Buy/Purchase)<br />
10. Collaborate with stakeholders about procurement activities, collect feedback, and derive initiatives in line with strategic requirements.<br />
11. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and consolidate procurement requirements, provide advisory services on suitable alternatives, coordinate with departments to identify professional services needs, record and consolidate requirements, and facilitate the translation of internal customer requirements into purchase orders for timely procurement of materials, products, and services.<br />
12. Participate in the evaluation of proposals, accurately transferring information and documents to the commercial evaluation sheet/Fusion. Review and interpret tender documents and contracts to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.<br />
Contract Administration, Development & Negotiation<br />
13. Lead negotiations and contract management activities with suppliers to secure cost-effective sources of products and services, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, benchmark costs and quality, monitor contract expirations, and initiate renewals. Develop and execute negotiation strategies, collaborate with internal stakeholders, legal department, and tender committee, and ensure effective contract management across procurement categories.<br />

<b>Qualifications - External</b><br />
Education & Professional Qualification:<br />
&bull; Bachelor&#39;s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent required.<br />
&bull; Accredited Procurement / Supply chain certification is preferable.<br />
Professional Experience:<br />
&bull; 8 or more years of experience in the area of Procurement & Supply Chain Management as a category manager or in a similar role.<br />
&bull; Minimum of 5 years experience within multinational company.<br />
