About the Team You must have valid Irish, UK, or EU work rights to be considered for this role We are seeking a newly or nearly qualified actuary to join the Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI) Pricing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an actuary to work in a commercial role, supporting ALPI’s expansive growth strategy. The role requires engagement across multiple areas of the business including Product, Sales, Customer Experience, IT, Finance and Risk. As part of the Pricing team, you will work with an experienced team across the full product range sold in the Irish market – Protection, Pensions, Investments and Annuities. Location: Cherrywood, Dublin 18 with hybrid working Duties & Responsibilities: Profit test and propose pricing terms for new product ideas Review existing product metrics to identify initiatives to maximise VNB Present reports to the monthly Pricing, Reinsurance and Costing Forum as required Engage with the Sales team on requests for bespoke pricing terms for key distribution partners Ensure that new product initiatives are set up correctly on our systems, including all disclosure requirements in line with Society Of Actuaries In Ireland guidance Support the mentorship and development of junior team members Ensure that a risk culture is embedded within the pricing team Ensure that value for money for our customers is considered in all pricing initiatives Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the business (e.g. Sales, Product, IT, CE) Support ALPI’s Transformation function from a pricing perspective as required Skills & Experience: A newly or nearly qualified actuary with substantial experience in the life/pensions industry Confident communicator, with strong written and oral communication skills Self-starter with evidence of a career track record of achievement Delivery focused with a flexible attitude and approach Ability to prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously and manage expectations accordingly Knowledge of the Irish commercial and regulatory environment and the Aviva Life & Pensions product range Strong Prophet and Excel knowledge with SQL or Python ability also an advantage Knowledge of Solvency II methodology (including VNB), IFRS17, and their impact on pricing Experience of pricing in the Irish market is an advantage but not a necessity.
