The Procurement Manager of Business Partnering (PMBP) plays a key role in representing Procurement within Bord Gáis Energy and Bord Gáis Energy within group procurement. They ensure active engagement in group procurement category strategies, ensuring they are created jointly with the business and meet with the specific needs of Bord Gáis Energy. This role integrates deeply with Bord Gáis Energy's Business and Functional leaders to represent the Procurement Director in day-to-day dealings. They ensure active involvement of the Procurement Director and relevant colleagues in Bord Gáis Energy's business reviews and escalations. Proactively collaborating with procurement colleagues, the Business Partner ensures a thorough understanding of Bord Gáis Energy's needs. They lead interactions with Bord Gáis Energy's business and functional leaders to develop, agree upon, and adhere to a 12-month, 3-year, and 5-year joint Procurement and Bord Gáis Energy Business plan. The role demands exceptional relational skills, commerciality, and business acumen to enhance business agility and responsiveness to key priorities. About the Role
  • Creating and supporting deep partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with selected senior managers of the supported function
  • Facilitating alignment with other business partners to gain a clear understanding of short-, medium- and long-term priorities of the supported function
  • Acting as a strategic advisor to the business to ensure that the Procurement Function is focussing effort on key objectives supporting business strategy
  • Improving the impact and understanding of procurement activities on business performance
  • Ensuring that business priorities are fed back within procurement communities
  • Bringing new ideas to the business to allow cost reduction, capture innovation, reduce risk, or ensure compliance
  • Challenge business needs to ensure requirements are suitably specified and sourced from the appropriate supplier
  • Collaborate in conjunction with business and functional leadership to agree appropriate targets and measures within the FOD (functional offer document)
  • Ensure all agreed procurement deliverables are integrated into business planning
  • Accountable for implementing performance measures between procurement and business
  • Engagement with business stakeholders to ensure future business requirements are detailed and signed off
  • Ensure business requirements are clearly specified and challenged
  • Accountable for ensuring complete alignment of savings to P&L and regular cadence with identified BU/Functional CFO and back into Procurement
  • Accountable for presentation of effective procurement management information and reporting to business stakeholders
  • Ensure Category management is fully aligned to business strategy with full visibility of business needs pipeline
  • Collaborative Value management - Instigate and facilitate collaborative cross business partnership discussions to unlock collaborative value delivery
  • Ensuring that stakeholders understand the procurement proposition and engaging with other business partners to align efforts to best support strategic goals of Centrica
  • Analysis of overall business needs to category teams to bring innovative market solutions
  • Be an essential part of performance reporting of the business
  • Together with the business unit/functional leadership team, develop the commercial strategy and identify and agree what the resource demand is and build the Centrica sourcing plan
  • Ensure that the Category Management teams are aligned with the BU/functional strategies so that functional demands can be fully understood and supported
  • Jointly own the fiscal delivery of the annual operating plan
  • Readjust Procurement strategies and demands to respond to changing business needs
  • Encourage and ensure all members of procurement are adhering to the procurement ways of working
About You
  • Excellent knowledge of the Republic of Ireland market dynamics in the energy generation, energy supply and Home Services sectors
  • Strong procurement background, across both Indirect and Direct procurement categories
  • Excellent relationships skills with the ability to interact and appropriately challenge and collaborate with C suite leaders
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver against the agreed goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leaders and stakeholders of all levels
  • Ability to challenge the business and internal stakeholders
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end Source to Pay process to understand when and how to best introduce other procurement teams and functions
  • A strong networker with the ability to build productive relationships across all areas of the group and collaborate with colleagues to build solutions which work for them and the organisation as a whole
  • Proven ability to deliver committed targets to senior stakeholders
  • Be able to manage and lead in a matrix structure, ensuring clear accountability with in-country leads and global categories
  • Ability to prioritise, manage complexity effectively and provide clear leadership
