About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 13 The Role: The individual will lead and shape the future of brand presence and revenue growth in the Asia-Pacific region as the Head of APAC Marketing for S&P Global Ratings. This pivotal position involves collaborating closely with the internal teams and external partners to create and execute strategic marketing initiatives that align with corporate goals and drive substantial top-line revenue growth. This talented team is deeply embedded across the diverse markets of APAC, leveraging local insights to craft strategies that resonate with each unique cultural and economic landscape. Collaborating seamlessly with our analytical and commercial teams, they champion the organization's thought leadership and sales ambitions. As part of the broader global marketing structure, the APAC marketing team benefits from the robust support of specialized pods such as the APAC events unit, which masterminds and executes world-class events, and the global product and content marketing faction, tasked with moulding the narrative and positioning of our products in concert with local geo-specific teams. This cross-functional synergy not only heightens our brand's presence but also drives forward our mission to empower informed financial decisions in the region. Key Responsibilities:
- Craft and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that cater to business objectives and regional peculiarities, elevating S&P Global Ratings in the APAC market with a focus on Greater China, Australia, South and South East Asia, Korea and Japan.
- Employ a deep understanding of digital platforms, especially WeChat and LinkedIn, to bolster brand awareness and generate leads within the Chinese market and the rest of the APAC region.
- Drive marketing efforts with a strong commercial perspective, ensuring they contribute directly to sales performance and revenue growth.
- Devise local language channels building upon local language content, developed in partnership with analytical team, e.g. China, Japan, Korea, etc.
- Develop and implement external partner strategy, in partnership with regional heads, to help drive awareness and demand for our offerings and, for selected partners, elevate their marketing effectiveness.
- Engage in continuous dialogue with internal partners from sales, product, and analytical disciplines to consolidate marketing priorities and foster outstanding marketing partnership.
- Synchronize efforts with S&P Global divisions (Market Intelligence, Commodity Insights, Mobility, Sustainable1 and DJI) to capitalize on synergies, share resources effectively, and maintain marketing excellence.
- Foster cross-regional collaboration among marketing peers in APAC and globally to share insights, unify global marketing strategies, and ensure consistency in brand messaging.
- Lead and mentor a professional marketing team, upholding a focus on content marketing and empowering them to achieve exceptional results.
- Demonstrate a robust commercial acumen and sales-oriented mindset to align marketing initiatives with business opportunities.
- Possess expert knowledge of B2B marketing strategies, with a proven record of implementing successful campaigns.
- Showcase a profound understanding of credit and financial markets, applying this expertise to tailor marketing efforts.
- Excel in fostering internal and external relationships, employing advanced negotiation skills and persuasive communication tactics.
- Directly influence the strategic direction and marketing outcomes for S&P Global Ratings in the APAC region, driving brand and product performance.
- Innovate and implement policies, procedures, and standards that shape marketing excellence within the industry.
- Member of the Ratings Marketing Leadership Team reporting to the Global Head of Marketing
- Oversee a marketing team, guiding full management responsibilities including hiring, compensation, performance management, and budget oversight.
- Encourage professional development and team synergy to deliver stellar marketing results.
- Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree (Masters or MBA) is preferred.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
- At least 7+ years of high-level marketing and management experience in financial services in APAC, with a distinct concentration in credit markets.
- Demonstrable expertise in managing B2B marketing within a financial services context or adjacent context with transferrable experience.
- Proficient in strategic planning, team motivation, and process optimization.
- Highly skilled in influencing and communications, capable of addressing complex matters with senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional public speaking and written communication abilities, complete with strategic influencing acumen.
- Energized, proactive attitude combined with a dedication to customer service excellence.
