About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 The Team: The Strategic Engagement and Intelligence Group (SEIG) is a global team that is responsible for the global development and execution of the MRTS commodity groups' market engagement and intelligence program. The Group serves as bridge-builders internally across content, commercial, marketing, client services and products teams, and more importantly, are charged with leading our outreach to the external market. The team manages and fulfills presentation requests and drives the continuous improvement of best practices in market engagement. The Impact: The role is critical to driving effective engagement for existing and developing high-profile price benchmarks our Chemicals business, as well as connecting across to other adjacent commodities such as crude oil, refined products, metals and the energy transition. The role will play a key part in leading and coordinating numerous commercial requests for engagement in the APAC Chemicals market.   • Become an integral leader in SEIG; and provide leadership to the global Chemicals team.
  • Get exposure to the Pricing Sector leadership team and across the broader Market Reporting and Trading Solutions leadership teams.
  • Gain cross-departmental exposure in working with the commercial/marketing teams.
  • Lead the formation of engagement strategy and priorities.
  • Acquire deep knowledge across the global Chemicals and some adjacent commodity markets.
  • Become recognized as a market expert in the Chemicals market - with opportunities to speak at events and engage with key companies in, associations and government leaders in the sector.
  • Interact with professionals, including C-Suite and other decisionmakers in the Chemicals industry.
  • Assess the impact of engagement and ensure continuous improvement across external activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of Chemicals global engagement strategy and communications plans; and iterate and maintain those plans throughout the annual cycle per SEIG best practice.
  • Co-lead the quarterly Chemicals Engagement Strategy Board and ensure follow upon actions as a part of executing the team's strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the global Chemicals markets.
  • Develop new contacts and relationships across the global Chemicals markets.
  • Prepare to present externally on key messaging and insights that are developed by the Chemicals team.
  • Coordinate/lead/monitor global Chemicals engagement activities leveraging and seeding SEIG best practices across the Chemicals team.
  • Lead response to commercial and client services requests for Chemicals market-facing inquiries.
  • Work with front-line pricing teams to ensure best practices are being followed around meeting notes, engagements and presentations.
  • Work closely with corresponding roles in other regions and sectors.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Platts pricing processes, products and content underpinned by strong curiosity and desire to continuously learn.
  • Previous experience in engaging clients or sources in markets
  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on strong influencing skills for both internal and external networks and the ability to work in matrix positions.
  • Strategic mindset with strong planning skills, and an adaptable mindset.
  • Superior communication skills including public speaking experience; good listening skills and strong written and oral capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and the Microsoft office suite.
  • Undergraduate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project/planning or management experience
  • Price reporting experience preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory issues in the region
  • Multilingual capabilities a plus
  • Use of Tableau; Dynamic CRM
  • Willingness to travel 40% or more
