IT Team Leader

About the role The Information Technology Team Lead will: troubleshoot and maintain the company’s information technology hardware including desktops, laptops, and network systems; deploy, maintain, troubleshoot electronic court reporting equipment and related audio hardware; manage users in the company’s directory service; and test, deploy, and manage company software applications; and provide an escalation point for on-site engineers, employees, and contractors. The IT Team Lead is a ‘hands-on’ role with some level of managerial capacity, this function will be responsible for coordinating the responsibilities of IT personnel, overseeing their daily task and schedules while working side by side with the team members offering excellent IT service to our employees and clients.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, including peripheral devices such as printers, switches, routers, and other equipment, and related network software and applications.
• Deploys new desktops and laptops to end users.
• Communicates with end users to provide support and troubleshoot problems with desktops, laptops, software, and court reporting equipment.
• Communicate with clients to provide immediate support for client-facing services.
• Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing of computers, network, electronic court reporting hardware, including microphones, and sound mixers, to ensure optimal network and computer function and minimal downtime.
• Maintains email and intranet services, adding and removing users and accounts.
• Collaborates with other IT Department staff globally and management to review and analyse hardware and software needs; recommends changes.
• Identifies common causes of trouble such as loose connections or defective components.
• Reviews manufacturers’ specifications on connections and methods to locate problems.
• Test, configure, and deploy new software applications.
• Audio/video file conversion and management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support the operation of the business and client needs.
• Coordinate and delegate the responsibilities of IT personnel, oversee the day-to-day tasks and scheduling of the team.
• Perform both on-site and off-site duties as required.

Required Skills:

• Ability to lead a team of engineers for scheduling and escalations.
• Ability to communicate business needs to the team effectively.
• Excellent knowledge with Microsoft Windows Desktop operating systems.
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting computer USB audio mixers, microphones, and other court reporting related audio equipment.
• Experience managing end user devices with mobile device management and endpoint management software.
• Ability to analyse and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent computer and network troubleshooting skills.

• Proficient in managing users and computers in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (MS 365).

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Former experience in computer maintenance and/or help desk support.
• A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications - An Advantage .
• Computer based audio recording knowledge – An Advantage
• Experience with ForTheRecord FTR Reporter a plus - An Advantage .
• Team Lead experience with small IT team – An Advantage.
