Are you a seasoned software engineer ready to make a profound impact on the future of healthcare technology? We are on the hunt for an expert developer to bring their experience, emerging leadership and great communication skills to significantly contribute to the development of our state-of-the art data aggregation software. As a Senior Software Engineer in our Smart Data Platform team, you will play a key role in our Health Intelligence Platform ; a health-centric solution designed to acquire and analyse data for individual, cohort, and population health management. You will be responsible for providing technical know-how to a cross-functional, agile development team working on a highly scalable and open platform, built on modern technology, that captures and aggregates all types of health data. What will you be doing?
- Be engaged with all aspects of development right from design, to delivery and support.
- Be fully involved with helping to steer best practices and approaches adopted by the team, as well as mentoring junior engineers.
- Have the ability to think creatively and be confident in making suggestions.
- Develop solid and well-structured software that will play a key role in the successful delivery of the solution.
- Get the opportunity to participate in the way clinical information is modelled and shared in an open healthcare ecosystem, with the chance to be exposed directly to stakeholders.
- Be part of a team who engages with clients, hears their user stories, business needs and goals, and ensures that what we build is what best meets their needs now and into the future.
- Experience: You will have 5+ years of experience contributing to the software architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of large-scale, complex distributed systems and products.
- Skills: You are proficient in both Java and Python, with strong knowledge of SQL and Hibernate for database interactions. Familiarity with Docker for containerisation is a must. Some exposure to data engineering tools and technologies, especially Apache Spark and Apache Airflow, is a bonus but not necessary.
- Characteristics: You have an inquisitive, detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills. You have a preference for agile methods. Being a great team player with a knack for mentoring comes naturally to you.
