(A) Job Purpose Head of Energy is a leadership position purposed to drive the energy portfolio and act as a bridge between technical and commercial teams to achieve best TCOs for the organisation. The position assures process governance related to energy related products and operations to bring energy efficiency in the network. As a senior leader, the incumbent is required to provide mentorship to the teams and relevant stakeholders. (B) Key Accountabilities:
- Plan yearly CapEx and OpEx for energy design, maintenance and operations. Lead the team in effective utilisation, tracking, reporting and capitalisation.
- Be a key adviser for Sales team to establish contract with customers from energy and infrastructure perspective. Develop and negotiate favourable energy charging mechanisms and SLAs which bring efficiency and result in creating site profitability. Partner with Sales team in customer pricing mechanics in alignment with customer and EDOTCO Group counterparts.
- Build statement of compliance for energy related products and services like rectifiers, batteries, generators and cabinet solutions to conduct RFPs.
- Setup grid energy and fuel targets for network operations on monthly basis, identify gaps, and provide necessary support to achieve operational excellence.
- Work as a key cross functional team member with internal stakeholder to build business cases, liaise with EDOTCO Group Engineering and Finance counterparts for smooth approvals.
- Play a pivotal role in opting for decarbonization measures in line with CSR initiatives and actively participate to achieve net zero targets.
- Conduct Proof of Concepts of innovative solutions by setting up baseline for qualification.
- Assure network maintenance within due time, arrange spare parts to avoid capacity and KPI degradation.
- Generate monthly network performance report covering DC up time and backup power performance. This includes RMS and its associated components and monitoring parameters.
- Be responsible for inventory management, on time availability and effective utilisation, cost/space optimisation, reporting, and alignment of at hand vs upcoming stock.
- Work on people development, identify weak areas and utilise tools and techniques to flourish team member’s capabilities. Also work on succession planning and develop team members by highlighting improvement areas for professional growth.

- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree as minimum qualification with 12-15 years of experience in relevant domain with 5-7 years in a leadership role.
- In depth knowledge of all type of energy solutions deployed in telecom industry including technological enhancements and new developments.
- In depth understanding of design principles of AC and DC power systems and energy management techniques.
- Innovative and adaptable to out-of-the-box solutions and be able to introduce new power regimes to bring energy efficiency in the network.
- Detailed understanding of energy cost items related to Grid as well as alternative sources of power, direct and indirect costs from tower-co perspective considering customer billing regimes.
- Knowledge of Remote Monitoring System architecture from tower-co perspective, its integration, and operating mechanics.
- Knowledge of cellular network’s architecture and components from various OEMs deployed by different operators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines.
- Fluent in verbal and written English plus effective reporting, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently as well as collaborative. Lead multi-functional teams and be proactive with a keen eye for detail.
