Duties / Tasks

1)Align, level, and anchor machinery.

2)Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.

3)Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.

4)Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.

5)Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.

6)Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.

7)Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets.

8)Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.

9)Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.

10)Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.

11)Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.

1)Handling and Moving Objects -- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

2)Controlling Machines and Processes -- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).

3)Performing General Physical Activities -- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

4)Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment -- Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles.

5)Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates -- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

6)6) Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material -- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

7)Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others -- Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.

8)Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

9)Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment -- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles.

6)Certification to climb up towers up to 300m.

16)Judgment and Decision Making -- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

17)Operations Analysis -- Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.

18)Time Management -- Managing one's own time and the time of others.

19)Systems Analysis -- Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

20)Complex Problem Solving -- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

1)Extent Flexibility -- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.

2)Static Strength -- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects

3)Multilimb Coordination -- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.

4)Manual Dexterity -- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

5)Arm-Hand Steadiness -- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

6)Information Ordering -- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (, patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

7)Trunk Strength -- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.

8)Wrist-Finger Speed -- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

9)Problem Sensitivity -- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

10)Gross Body Equilibrium -- The ability to keep or regain your body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.

11)Dynamic Strength -- The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.

12)Depth Perception -- The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.

13)Visualization -- The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.

14)Oral Expression -- The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

15)Speed of Limb Movement -- The ability to quickly move the arms and legs.

16)Stamina -- The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.

17)Gross Body Coordination -- The ability to coordinate the movement of your arms, legs, and torso together when the whole body is in motion.

18)Explosive Strength -- The ability to use short bursts of muscle force to propel oneself (as in jumping or sprinting), or to throw an object.

19)Written Comprehension -- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

20)Control Precision -- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

21)Far Vision -- The ability to see details at a distance.

1)Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

2)Public Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

3)Physics -- Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes.
